Impactraction is an MVP project where I applied my UX Research, Design, and Content Strategy skills to redesign a website for Social Financiers where they could connect with potential entrepreneurs, make a deal, manage their deal flow and portfolio, and monitor their portfolio impact.
The Problem
Although there are some websites designed to connect Entrepreneurs and Financiers, there is no system that allows them to manage and monitor their projects’ impact and deal flow in one place. And a lack of well-organized content for various types of investors and entrepreneurs is another issue as it is difficult to find specific information that matches their profile. The previous MVP was incomplete and had no proper structure.
The Solution
To redesign the website with well-organized sections where financiers and entrepreneurs can network, explore opportunities, manage their deal flow, and monitor the project's impact in one place. (Starting from exploration to social impact.) And to enhance the UX and UI modifying the sitemap.

Comparative Analysis:
Since there are vast information and a typical process to follow, research and analysis took ample time to come up with the appropriate content and user flow for the entire finance section on the website. As we already had an MVP, we had gone through the competitor analysis report created by the previous design team and by analyzing the competitors and finance-related websites and current data, I studied users’ most frustrating issues with regards to investing and the deal-making process.
We performed an additional Comparative Analysis where we examined the current similar platforms present in the market to know our goals and to make the website a minimum viable product as well as giving the users a great experience. We found more than five similar websites that serve financiers and entrepreneurs.
User Personas:
And as per the product's requirements, the user needs and based on my research report, I created four User Personas choosing the four different types of target users such as Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, Grant Providers (Government, Foundations), and Loan Providers (Banks).

Personas

Information Architecture and Sitemap:
I created a proper structure for the Finance section to finalize the user flow and the required content. After discussing with my collaborators, who were working on the Enterprise section, we concluded the sitemap for the entire website.
Content Strategy:
I prepared the content requirement doc for each section of the finance part to gather the required points and organized them accordingly.
Here, my primary aim was to create an intuitive user flow with a proper content structure since the website has a very complex subject (finance), and considering the amount of content, the client needed the easiest and simple flow without going through many steps for the users to reach the endpoint. At the same time, I tried to create pages with limited content by dividing the project details page into two, such as a page with brief details and another with extensive info where financiers can do the assessment of the project. This is to circumvent ambiguity in users. Based on the above structure, I created the top and side navigation bars.
Wireframes/Mockups:
Following my research findings report, I created wireframes with all required content and organized the categories to make the page user friendly as the categorization helps users to browse for the projects that are highly significant to them.
Design:
By following the style guide prepared by one of my colleagues, I designed the user interface of the Social Finance section and 60% of the Enterprise section. And as per the client's needs, I created the dashboards for deal flow management and portfolio pages of the finance section applying my data visualization skills.
Explore Projects
The 'Explore Projects' section has four categories- Recommended Projects, Recently Added, Featured Projects, and All Projects. Here, financiers can view projects and entrepreneurs' details.

Assess Projects
The financiers can assess the project, which is a crucial part of the platform. And users can give scores to the various factors using the available rubric table on the site.

Deal Pipeline
Deal Pipeline has five stages Screening, Reviewing, Negotiating, Closing, and Financed. Users can organize their deals according to their ongoing conversation and deal process. This pipeline gives a picture of various projects' deal flow status, the financiers are interested in.

Deal Flow Status
Users can communicate with their team members, add the upcoming actions and tasks, manage the calendar, track individual project status, team interactions, and current activity. I created the deal flow management with required points that allow financiers to make early decisions on a particular project.

Portfolio
Once the user starts investing in a Project, they can monitor their ROI and project's impact (Environmental, Financial, Social). They can set a benchmark and observe if their portfolio is performing as per their expectations. There are portfolio performance and financial projections' dashboards available for the deal criteria, which makes it easier for the users to track the current status of their investment projects.

Portfolio Impact

Impactraction is one of the best projects, where I enjoyed working on the subject since it was entirely new to me and a very complex one to perceive. We designed the web application with the required functions and features and a better UX and UI.

Even though it was a short period to work on this project, I firmly think that this project work revealed my skills and made me acknowledge some of my strengths that gave me further inspiration to continue and thrive in the UX industry.
